Description
We are looking for part time Respite Direct Support Assistants to provide companionship to children with developmental disabilities in their homes. The goal is to engage the children in activities that will enhance their daily living or social skills, while ensuring that a safe and healthy environment is maintained.

- Maintain and safeguard each family/participant’s right to privacy, respect and confidentiality.
- Engage each client in activities that enhance and increase the client’s daily living and social recreational skills.
- Plan activities for each service session and consult Program Director as necessary.
- Be a participating member of the Program Team.
- Facilitate social and recreational activities or activities of daily living per family service agreement.
- Assist Program Director or designee as directed in maintaining accurate required records.
- Ensure that a safe and healthy environment is maintained for all clients at all times.
- Attend and participate in appropriate staff meetings, trainings, conferences and workshops as required.
- Perform additional related assignments requested by the Program Director or designee.
- High School Diploma
- Experience in working with participants with developmental disabilities and/or medical challenges preferred
- Valid NJ drivers license and reliable transportation
